Ribbon packaging design tips
-
Plan the repeat pattern: Ribbon artwork repeats across the roll, so check that logos, icons and text flow cleanly from one section to the next.
-
Keep text readable: Ribbon can be narrow, so short words, bold lettering and simple logos usually work better than tiny details.
-
Choose the material early: Satin, grosgrain, cotton, recycled and woven ribbons all create different texture, print and gifting effects.
-
Think about how it will be tied: Logos and patterns may rotate, fold or twist when tied around boxes, bags or products.
-
Design the full unboxing: Ribbon packaging pairs well with boxes, bags, tissue paper, stickers, thank-you cards, wax seals and product inserts.
