About Anastasia Safronova

I live in Yekaterinburg, Russia. It's a lovely place but there's snow 6 months a year and in the future I would like to move somewhere warmer. I got my degree in graphic design this summer but drawing has been a part of my life since I was a teenager and I like doing both.

I get inspired by little things: the combination of nail polish and colour of a mug, the greyness of my bedroom when it rains, package design, the grain in old photographs, Brit rock and films with a sad ending. I also admire the world of fashion, especially the couture part of it.  Abstract art, textures and lines is another great source of inspiration for me.
I like open-minded, non-judgmental people. Lack of freedom in any form, even the smallest, makes me sad and angry. I wish all people could express themselves without fear of being ridiculed or physically injured. It’s important and I would like to explore this topic in my art in the future. It fascinates me how other artists raise such serious issues and convert them into the language of art, which is universal for all people.
I am quite an introvert and spend most of my time alone, but I am always open to new acquaintances. I am vegan, but not in aggressive activist kind of way:) A few of my favourite things are: books about modern art, minimalistic silver rings, dark humour, to-do lists, rain and fog (seriously, sun is so overrated), corduroy blazers, converse shoes and cookie dough. I also love music, but who doesn’t?
All my life I considered myself lucky in a way that I knew what I like doing, and I was content with studying graphic design. But (surprise!) as I graduated, it turned out that even if you decided on your career it’s very likely you still don’t know what’s going on and what to do. So at the moment I am trying to figure it out. I am sure that future holds the best!

Tips to fellow Artists:
Explore yourself, your authenticity is the key to success. You can't do anything better than being yourself. And trust the process, if you keep going there will be results.
