Ameena Fareeda is an Illustrator and Designer currently residing in Silver Spring, Maryland. With a deep-rooted passion for creation, Ameena's artistic journey has been a rollercoaster ride, filled with both triumphs and tribulations. However, it was when she began creating for herself rather than others that her true artistic voice began to solidify.
Ameena's primary focus lies in shedding light on the cultural and social experiences of the Asian American and AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) communities. As an Indian Asian-American woman, she understands the significance of amplifying the voices within her community through her art. 
By delving into her personal identity through her work, Ameena found a newfound freedom of expression. The pandemic brought about a sense of uncertainty, causing her to feel adrift in her creative endeavors. Nevertheless, she persisted, determined to breathe life into any small idea that crossed her mind. Gradually, these seemingly insignificant ideas grew and flourished, empowering her to share her work with the world unabashedly.
Ameena's art is characterized by its vibrant colors and bold graphics. Through her creations, she embraces her true self, unafraid to showcase her authentic identity. Sharing her art has become an integral part of who she is, allowing her to connect with others and celebrate her unique voice.
Tips to fellow Artists:
Having multiple sources of inspiration will help enhance your creative thinking and will help you gain more insight. Take for instance me as a designer, I love seeing how different colors and shapes interact, but it can be a bit overwhelming at times. I turn to reading books, watching movies or cartoons, and listening to music, which in turn is still indulging in different forms of art, but helps me ease the stress of my own projects. We all struggle to find our place in the world, and as a creative sometimes it seems like there's an added amount of pressure when you want to create work that truly represents you. The more you explore and embrace your unique journey, that experience reveals itself in your work. Be truthful to your own personal journey and trust the course it takes you on!
